The Express Yourself Arts Conference is Rutherford County's only arts workshop conference for high schools students. Held annually in the fall, the conference brings together professionals in the arts from across Middle Tennessee for a day of leading workshops on subjects ranging from drawing to photography, improv theatre to painting.

The day allows talented, young artists to network with their peers, learn from professionals, as well as receive information on art oriented careers and higher education.

The conference is a collaborative effort of organizations in Rutherford County including the Business Education Partnership Foundation, Read to Succeed, Arts in Rutherford, and Youth Empowerment Through Arts and Humanities. It is sponsored by the generosity of Middle Tennessee Electric Care and Friends of Linebaugh Library.

"I have students ask me all the time how people use arts in "real life". EYAC does a great job of being the concept to life by gathering working artists from many different disciplines together for a one day, "hands-on" workshop conference. Here, students gain insight into many art-related careers from visual and performing arts to writing and music. Anytime students can relate school to life experiences, it's a good thing."

"Thank you SO much for another fabulous Express Yourself Arts Conference! My students loved it... almost as much as I did! I love to watch them get excited about doing something BIG with their passion."
