Job Shadow Day

Job Massage

Photo: Students at Georgia Career Institute share what they are learning with Rutherford County high school seniors interested in the field of therapeutic massage.

Begun as part of the state's Education Edge program, each year a day is set aside for high school seniors to explore a business or career of interest. The BEP coordinates Job Shadow Day and helps school coordinators find contacts for students.

Contact the BEP for a list of Job Shadow Coordinators for Rutherford County high schools.

"The BEP's Job Shadow Program is a pipeline to expose young students to the world of health care and the variety of potential careers that they may enter. We have had numerous Job Shadowers that have gone on to college and enter healthcare professions and are now working in these fields. Healthcare needs more programs like this if it will be able to provide quality care in the future."
