BEP/Nissan Teacher Mini-Grants

This program provides funding for teachers to use on classroom projects that represent ideas over and beyond their required curriculum.

These grants of up to $500 are given out each semester at an awards breakfast to honor grant recipients.

Grant applications are available online or through the Business Education Partnership at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce in August and January.

"Since 2002, Nissan has been the major sponsor of the Nissan/BEP Drive for Education Golf Classic, raising over $200, 000 to support teacher mini-grants in the Rutherford County and Murfreesboro City Schools. Nissan and its suppliers believe the program sparks students' imaginations and develops real-world skills students will use as part of the future workforce.

Nissan believes the BEP provides an essential bridge between education and business in the Rutherford County community. Without the BEP, companies like Nissan would not have the unique opportunity to share our resources and lend a helping hand to areas students.

"Thank you for BEP Mini-Grants! There is no way that teachers can do the 'extras' on the budgets we have. Thank you from my students, also. They are the ones who truly benefit from these grants."
