Professor Buzzo Discovery Academy

Specifically created to help elementary school teachers integrate the new state-mandated math and science curriculum into an already busy classroom, “Professor Buzzo’s Discovery Academy” is three days of hands-on projects, laboratory activities and real world experiences that will add new dimensions to the classroom. The program was developed by a team of K-16 educators and business representatives interested in helping teachers prepare students for the workforce and community leadership. Teachers will find new ways to make math, science and technology fun for their students and a breeze to teach!

The academy is held in June and is open to 32 3rd-5th grade teachers. Graduates of the program will receive professional development credit and stipends for their participation.

"Professor Buzzo's Discovery Academy" is made possible by the generosity of the Jennings and Rebecca Jones Foundation.

"I can't begin to thank you enough for the FANTASTIC job you did with the Professor Buzzo Academy. While many things were learned and ideas were exchanged; friendships were also established and some wonderful community contacts were brought forth."
