Specifically created to help elementary school teachers integrate the new state mandated math and science curriculum into an already busy classroom, Professor Buzzo Discovery Academy is three days of hands-on projects, laboratory activities and real world experiences that will add new dimensions to the classroom.

The program was developed by a team of K-16 educators and business representatives interested in helping teachers prepare students for the workforce and community leadership. Teachers will find new ways to make math, science, and technology exciting for their students and fun to teach.

The academy is held in June and is open to 32 3rd-5th grade teachers. Professor Buzzo's Discovery Academy is made possible by Middle Tennessee Electric Customers Care and the "Arts for Education: An Elegant Evening" fundraiser.

"I can't begin to thank you enough for the FANTASTIC job you did with the Professor Buzzo Academy. While many things were learned and ideas were exchanged; friendships were also established and some wonderful community contacts were brought forth."
