YEAH

Youth Empowerment Through Arts and Humanities

Youth Empowerment through Arts and Humanities (YEAH) is a charitable, tax-exempt, 501(c)3 organization that provides a safe and supportive environment for young people that fosters creativity, stronger individuals, and a stronger community.

YEAH is the parent organization for the Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp, a summer day camp during which 90 girls from all over the country converge onto the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro to form bands, learn to play instruments, attend music and other artistic workshops.YEAH is also the parent organization for a year round, co-educational program known as Rock Blok, wherein middle school and high school kids are invited to form bands, learn to play instruments and perform several songs in an end of session showcase performance that is also open to the public, their families and friends. A third program for which YEAH is responsible is the School of Recording, wherein students learn to use their computers to record their own music. These classes are heavy in both the technical and theoretical nuances of sound production and recording.
