BEP Nissan Teacher Minigrant Program Opens for Fall

September 10, 2019

For Immediate Release

Murfreesboro, Tennessee  --  September 10, 2019 --  BEP Nissan Teacher Minigrant Award applications are now available for teachers who are working in the Murfreesboro City and Rutherford County School Systems.

The purpose of the BEP Nissan Teacher Minigrant Award program is to provide resources for teachers who demonstrate innovation through teaching concepts beyond core curriculum. Thanks to a generous investment from Nissan, the Business Education Partnership Foundation awards minigrants in sums of up to $500.00 per proposal; a maximum of two proposals per teacher may be submitted and potentially awarded.

BEP Nissan Teacher Minigrant Awards are not intended to fund classroom technology, school supplies, or other equipment related to teaching typical curriculum. Rather, minigrants are intended for use to creatively teach and enhance concepts through meaningful interactive learning, as opposed to rote lecture and instruction.

Applications complete with program guidelines must be submitted online at rutherfordbep.org.   To be considered, all grant applications must be received by the BEP Foundation by 4:30 p.m. on October 11.   The BEP Nissan Teacher Minigrant Awards Breakfast will be held Thursday, December 5th, from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. at Stones River Country Club.

The Business Education Partnership (BEP) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization formed in 1988 with the help of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. The BEP states as its mission:  “To foster interest in and to promote and support programs in public schools of the City of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County that will prepare students for the business world.”
